Federal and provincial governments together with farm organizations are recognizing
the importance of sustainable farm production into the future. This direction
is now influencing farm policy direction as evidenced by the recent release of
several reports by both government and broad-based agricultural stakeholder groups.
Below are the sustainable production sections from two of these reports.

Invest today - Prosper Tomorrow, Prime Minister's Task Force Report

This was a major parliamentary task force report developed by the federal government and chaired by MP Bob Speller. A strategically important part of the report focused on the need for initiatives to support sustainable production practices in this country.

Odyssey Report

The Odyssey Report provides a strategic vision for agriculture in Ontario as developed by a broad-based committee representing all facets of agricultural production in Ontario and chaired by former OFA President Roger George. A major chapter of this Report focuses on environmental stewardship with several recommendations to support improvements in this area.
